Although the "P" in the title refers to the concertina-player Pauline
de Snoo, this piece was written for one of my flute students (actually
called Miriam..). However, the piece is an adaptation of "Webworks", which
was originally written for concertina and piano, hence the title.
There are 2 parts to the piece: a slow, cantabile introduction leads
into a faster, rhythmic section which is based on a changing pattern of
10 and 11 beats.
Length: 6'30"
I'm including 2 extracts from the score as pdf files, and an mp3 fragment
of bars 27-48 (the end of the slow section into the beginning of the faster
part). The players are Trui Allemeersch on flute and Kristina Sandulova
on piano, recorded in 2004 when they were both students at the Utrecht
Conservatorium in the Netherlands.
