... Although this debut-CD contains several good solos, the greatest praise is due to Christina Fuchs and Hazel Leach, who have written and arranged all of the pieces. With itís emphasis on colour, the music is strongly reminiscent of Gil Evans, but folk-music too plays a role.... Jazz Nu 9/96
....they play exclusively original compositions, a fusion of jazz, New Music and folk, completely free of machismo. These young women give themselves the time to make music. Not one of the UWO members is saying "faster, higher, louder.." These are wondrous paths on which soloists such as Meike Goosman (sax and clarinet) tread.
